A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!! FOR COLLECTORS OF 14 YEARS +, THIS IS A DETAILED SCALE MODEL PRODUCED BY FIRST LEGION NAP0350 - 60mm Austrian Field Marshal Archduke Charles, Duke of Teschen Please note the right hand and flag ship as a separate part Field Marshal Archduke Charles was perhaps the finest Austrian field commander of the Napoleonic Wars. His military career began during the French Revolutionary Wars where he showed he was an extremely capable commander and one of the only field officers capable of defeating the French. After the disaster of 1805 at Austerlitz, Archduke Charles was named Commander in Chief of the Austrian armed forces and he began a massive overall of the Austrian Military, doing away with the old linear concepts and adopting a much more French style of organization and tactics. He lead the Austrian Army at Aspern-Essling and handed Napoleon his first true defeat in a major battle. He was later defeated at Wagram and soon retired from active military service. We have depicted him here during the second day of Aspern Essling when he personally took up a standard to rally his flagging troops and drive back the French thrust threatening to break his center. This wondefully sculpted and painted figure will make an excellent addition to any serious Napoleonic toy soldier collection. read more
