#CH4 / Chrome Pen from the Shuttle Series This is a New Fisher Space Pen, Model #CH4 Chrome Shuttle Space Pen. It comes with black ink and a medium point. This is a retractable pen with a side button release. This pen is 5-1/4" long and the barrel is .315, which is about the size of a standard sized pen maybe a little on the slim side with a tapered grip and a pocket clip. It comes with a gift box and sleeve. The Shuttle Series pens come in chrome, chrome with gold grid, chrome with back grid, and matte black with gold trim. They are all shown in the photo below. The MSRP on this pen is $28.00. Fisher Space Pens and the standard “SPR Series” refill have been used on EVERY Space Shuttle mission, both USA and Russian. Because it is hermetically sealed with a specially formulated thixotropic ink and pressurized to about 35 PSI it will not dry out like other pens and has a shelf life of over 100 years. It does not rely on Gravity, It writes up side down, in the vacuum of space, on wet paper, underwater, in the freezing cold of -30° F, and the boiling heat of 250° F.
