Flight & Barr Worcester Armorial Plate A/F ? Irish C1800 Description This early 19th Century porcelain plate is decorated with a border of Brown and Gilt Grapes & Leaves. In the centre is an Armorial Coat of Arms and motto outlined with a gilt Greek key border. The Armorial is of a Crown, below which is a banner with the motto "DATA FATA SECUNDUS" . In the centre is a Red Hand, with an Eagle to the left and a Harp to the right. I believe the plate was made by Flight and Barr Worcester and think the Armorial refers to an Irish family. The same pattern is illustrated in "Flight & Barr Worcester Porcelain" by Sandon on pages 46 and 50. The Plate has been broken, probably with hot water and repaired with metal staples. There are no chips, the decoration is in good order. Size: approx 8" (20.5cms) in diameter Terms & Conditions: Descriptions of Items for Sale: All items I sell are as Used, Vintage or Antique and as such may have flaws and signs of wear commensurate with age.
