You are bidding on a Beautiful Antique French Opaline Hande Floral Leaded Lamp. Not knowing for sure I am so excited because I just found another lamp listed on ebay with the exact same Shade. It is just in a different color and that one is made by Handel. The listing if you want to check it out is under HANDEL LEADED GLASS & BRASS TABLE LAMP SIGNED. The live auction goes off on July 26th. They are starting the price at $1,500.00 with an estimate of it going off at $3,000.00-$5,000.00. I think this Lamp is so much prettier because of it's colors and because of the opaline base. It is absolutely one of the prettiest Leaded Lamps I have seen. I could not capture the Beauty in any of the photos. It is so much prettier in person. It is in good condition with the exception of the break in the shade which I have shown on the photos. T are two tiny hairline cracks in two of the pieces of glass that I did not capture in the photo. They are very small and you have to look extremely hard to even see it. I was told that the older woman who owned this lamp had the flaw towards the wall and you could not even tell it was t As you can see in the photos it isn't noticeable at all when the break area is turned away. I am sure it could be repaired with a good stained/leaded glass repair person. The base is either marble or alabaster and I do not know what type of metal on the two tier layer and above the opaline glass is made from. FYI - I am not an expert so I am not sure of the material. The base is in good condition for it's age and t are only a few little flecks/nicks around the marble/alabaster area. The French Opaline glass is flawless and stunning without any cracks, chips or breaks. T is remnant gold writing on the side of the blue opaline glass. It looks like it could have been a number but I cannot make it out. The finial fits good but after looking at the Handel Lamp listed that I mention above, makes me think it might not be original. But again, I could be wrong. The Lamp works great and the cord looks to be original. T are three receptacles and again, all are in working condition. One moves but the other two do not. I believe the top part of the receptacles w the bulb screws in, looks to have been replaced and are not original. The Shade is extremely heavy and I know it will need a professional to ensure it's safety in the mail. So, I will take it to a professional shipper to have it wrapped for sound shipment. I do believe it should be mailed in two seperate boxes. I will ship this as cost effectively and again safely as possible. I will not charge a handling fee only the exact amount based on weight and w you live. A kind ebayer emailed me letting me know that my shipping rate is showing up at a very high rate. Please pay no attention to it. Like I stated above, shipping will be based on weight and w you live. The lamp is large at approx. 26 1/2" to 27" in Height with the Shade. The Shade itself measures 10 1/2" in Height and measures approx. 16 1/2" X 16 1/2" in Width. The opaline glass measures 9" in Height. The flaw/break in the shade measures approx. 5" - 6" . I cannot stress enough how beautiful this lamp is. I would guess this dates back to the late 1880's to early 1900's. I tried looking for a signature but could not find one. If you look at the other Lamp listed on ebay that I talk about above, t was a small metal Handel label on the inside of the shade and just maybe t was one years ago attached to this lamp shade and it has fallen off after all these years. ~Something of interest ~ I have copied and pasted below this from the Handel Lamp History website.
