FLORENCE CERAMICS PASADENA CALIFORNIA DEAR RUTH NIGHT LAMP This is a wonderful piece of California Art Pottery from the 1940-1950's era. This is stamped on the bottom with the Florence Ceramics logo and in script writing is labeled "Dear Ruth". Beautiful green gown on Ruth sitting on a marble column. The lamp, sadly is not in perfect condition. T is a repair on the letter reading "Dear Ruth". The corner has been re-glued. Surprisingly all the fingers on both hands are in super condition. The shoes are not damaged and the head itself is perfect. I can see one nick on the gold rimmed ruffle on the left hand. These are relatively minor flaws, not too noticeable. On the back of the lamp t is a nick at the waistline and a hairline crack that goes left and right from the nick, but does not go all the way to either side. The crack and nick are in the center at the waistline and measure about 2.5" in total. It's a rather strange area to have damage, as if something fell on the lamp on the back side. At any rate, I want any potential buyer to be aware of the condition. The lamp socket has been checked out and works very well. Even though t is damage to this lamp it is a super piece.
