Deep violet-bluefluorescent Hardystonite with brilliant green SW fluorescent Willemite , brown Andradite and black Franklinite . The weak orange-brown SW fluorescence comes from minor amounts of Clinohedrite and there are a few tiny spots of red SW fluorescent and momentarily phosphorescent Calcite .From Franklin , Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey - type locality for Hardystonite, Franklinite and ClinohedriteMeasures approximately 3 x 2 x 1½ in and weighs 2.58oz / 76 x 51 x 38 mm, 73.20g To show the fluorescent response the specimen was illuminated using 6 watt 254nm(Short Wave) / 366nm (Long Wave) UVGL-58 lamp (you need a proper UV light source to observe the fluorescence, more powerful lamp = brighter response ).
