ARTIST"S PROOF......FLYING TIGERS!!!!! SIGNED BY BRIGADIER GENERAL ROBERT L. SCOTT, JR and the artist, KAREN MC GOWAN. Note, General Scott's signature appears as "Bob Scott". Up for bid is one of 50 Artist proofs of a painting called "TAKE 'EM TIGERS". This painting was done by Atlanta Native Karen McGowan as a fund raiser for the WW2 aviation museum in the Atlanta area. The limited edition of 500 sold out, but Karen kept 10 artist proofs and donated them to the Police Unity Tour, a 300 mile bicycle ride that raises money for fallen police officers. 8 are sold.. General Scott wrote the inspirational book called "God is my Co-Pilot". In July, 1942, the Flying Tigers defeated Japanese fighters and bombers at Kweilin. 34 Japanese planes fell that day without a single American loss. General Scott had command of 29 P-40's when this devasting defeat for Japan took place. The measurements of the paper the print is on is 26" by 20". The print itself measures 24.5" by 17.5 inches. I've got one framed and it looks great. ALL PRINTS COME WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY THAT STATES GENERAL SCOTT DID INDEED SIGN THESE ARTIST PROOFS!!!!!!! Shipping is free.
