Chinese chess pieces are not included, but the board is recommended for pieces up to 1 1/4 inch in diameter. NICE LOOKING BOARD The board is covered with a printed graphic overlay, showing the grain of Bolivian rosewood. The lines are pleasantly laid out in red and black. GOOD SIZE, STURDY AND CONVENIENT The board measures 13 by 14 inches, with lines 1 3/8 inches apart. It is the perfect size for a standard Chinese chess set, with pieces up to 1 1/4 inches in diameter.The board itself is made of durable composite hardboard (known as Masonite).
