For Delilah--Jim Shore's Longfellow Dachshund Figurine Jim Shore Heartwood Creek new Dachshund Dog called "Longfellow". Jim Shore, a self taught artist, uses a variety of media, including watercolors and tempera. His nostalgic memories from his Country upbringing and his love for intricate patterns blends to create his charming collections. Jim's excellent eye for detail gives ever piece its heart-warming appeal. The distinctive patterns and inspired coloring of Jim Shore, perfectly capture the personality and warmth of our most faithful companions. They are made of Stone Resin and Longfellow is 4" tall. This piece is brand new and in original box with tag. ********************************************************** This item is being offered by Mr. Hans and Mr. Apache who are Foster Mom Linne's original Dachsie family. Miss Delilah is so sweet (unlike a few of the other females their Mom has foster) that they wanted to do what they could to help her too. The boys raided their Mom's gift closet to offer these items for auction on Ebay as they are sure their Mom doesn't need them as much as Miss Delilah needs does. ********************************************************** It is me, J. R. #1 from teeny tiny state of Rhode Island and Mr. Claudius Jones from the much bigger state of Pennsylvania back on Ebay to beg you to buy some of our things to help the cutest little Doxie Chick in the entire gigantic state of Texas. This little darling who is as sweet as sugar, cute as a button, sleek as a seal, is named Miss Delilah and Miss Delilah really needs your help. She is a precious little Dachsie who ended up at a high kill shelter showing signs of having a "little limp". Dr. Costas, the vet at BARC (Bureau of Animal Control - Houston), called Linne of ATDR and begged her to please help this precious baby and when Linne saw Delilah she melted. Delilah went to Linne's house on Labor Day and shortly afterwards she had an appointment with Dr. Powell, a specialist, for a diagnosis on her limp for when a Dachsie limps it is generally a sign of a back problem. Instead of a back problem Delilah's X-rays showed that her pelvis was broken in 2 or 3 places, crushed or cave-in one place and that she had a severely broken tibia that would require pins. Since these were her "only" problems Dr. Powell felt that her injuries were caused by blunt force trauma and that someone probably gave this little sweetie one hell of a kick before they dumped her at the pound. After hearing this nasty bit of news Miss Delilah's foster Mom couldn't hold the tears back while Miss Delilah, inspite of the pain, showered everyone with sweet Doxie kisses. Needless to say Miss Delilah quickly won the hearts of everyone at the vet's office as rarely do they get such sweet and loving patients. Miss Delilah underwent extensive surgery which cost approximately $2,000 and is now recuperating in her foster home and enjoying every moment of being loved and pampered. The unhappy news is this newest vet bill completely maxed out her foster Mom Linne's credit card and Miss Delilah still requires additional physical therapy which will also be costly. Since her foster Mom can't afford to add on any more debt; ATDR, Delilah and Linne's plastic really NEED help!
