GERMAN ELEFANT PANZERJAGER - HEAVY TANK DESTROYER Built on the chassis of the Porsche design for the Tiger tank and first named The Ferdinand after its creator Dr Ferdinand Porsche, it was renamed the Elefant in 1944. Formidably armed with the Krupp Pak 43/2, a very precise and uprated long-range version of the feared 88mm gun, its massive bulk first presented a terrifying spectacle to the unsuspecting Russian crews in their T34s. Its armour plate steel was 200mm thick, it had a top speed of 30kph and had a crew of 6 comprising of its commander, driver, radio operator, gunner and two loaders. It saw considerable action in Russia although this superb model from the Battle-Hardened Forces of Valor 1/32 diecast series is based on a version fielded in Italy in 1944. This model is new and has only been taken out of its packaging for photographic purposes. It has been photographed without its accessories attached, which are still unopened in their bubble packs within the display box. Full R.R.P. on this model is a minimum of £49.99. This is a big, heavy model and postal costs of £6.85 for Recorded Delivery, incl. packaging reflect this. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER ITEMS LISTED FOR AUCTION
