Location: Mikhailov, Russia Age: Jurassic, Callovian (164.7 to 161.2 million years ago +/- 4 Ma) Size: 1.58"H X 1.9 "W X .47"D Condition: Excellent This wonderfully preserved pyritized ammonite has been beautifully dome polished on one side to reveal the metallic luster of the druzzy pyrite crystals that grew within the chambers. The iridescence of the original shell often shows on the natural unpolished side. It will make a wonderful display specimen for your collection. It also would make a beautiful piece of jewelry or a beautiful decorator piece for your home. These ammonites lived between 164.7 and 161.2 million years ago and swam in a shallow sea that once covered parts of Russian during the time of the dinosaurs. My Russian friends collect and prepare these fossils in Russia and deliver them to me so that I can share them with you. The preparation and aesthetic presentation is of the highest quality.
