Pteronisculus cicatrosus. An absolutely gorgeous RARE little fish in nodule and of nice size. It measures 150 x 65 mm across and comes from the Lower Triassic of Ambilobe, Madagascar and dates circa 250 million years old.End of primary era / beginning of secondary era (Paleozoic/Mesozoic - Permien/Trias period) , these fishes are very rare and are the first fossil fishes available in Europe today. Madagascar is the only known site for this period.Very well preserved in the nodule, the fish has two parts: a positive and a negative, as shown in the image. Both parts stack perfectly and form a nodule. It is an excellent specimen for study.Fossilization is perfect, fossilized scales can even be noticed. DIMENSION: 150 x 70 mm ***************************************************** Fin de l'ère primaire/début de l'ère secondaire ( Paléozoique/Mesozoique , Période Permien/Trias), ces poissons sont très rares et sont les premiers poissons fossiles disponibles à ce jour en Europe.
