Fossil Warehouse This Fossil Oreodont Skull with Teeth is from the Brule Formation, Niobrara County, Wyoming. Merycoidodon culbertsoni sp. About 34 Million Years Old and part of the Lower most Oligocene Period. A sheep-sized animal, Oreodonts are a broad and ancient group of cud-chewing hoofed mammals from North & Central America. Distantly related to pigs, hogs, camels and hippopotamuses. This Skull measures 6 3/4 inches (17.1cm) in length and 3 3/4 inches (9.5cm) width. Heavily mineralized, with some natural fractures. Restoration on the top of the Skull and Nose, also on the Right side of nose and cheek. Zygomatic Arch restored. Great color and preservation with Superb Teeth. Collected on private ranch land.
