A rare one indeed... This one is. ( Sorry. Just saw Star Wars). Seriously ,Sea Lion Scapula are never offered for sale. Not by discoverers or Collectors. I collected the specimen in the late 1990's from The shark Tooth Hill Bone Bed . Bakersfield, Kern County, Ca. If your not familiar with the site. It's a vast bone bed in the San Joaquin Valley. In which Specimens of Whales, Dolphins Sea Lion, Sea Turtles, Bony Fish, and of course Shark Teeth . It is estimated there are 900 shark teeth (various size miniscule to giant) per square meter. This is the condyle of the scapula. It is missing a platter sized protuberance of thin bone that almost never occurs in the bone bed. It's just too fragile. I'll included images of a complete scapula ,as well a satellite image of the locality it was found. Let the force be with you.....
