FOSTEX R8 PRO 8 TRACK REEL TO REEL RECORDER TAKES UP TO 7" X 1/4" TAPE I WILL HIGHLIGHT EVERY KNOWN FAULT WITH THIS ITEM AND PROVIDE A PHOTO FOR EACH. Most of the faults are purely cosmetic and do not alter the performance of the machine. Photo 2. 2 of the 6 front panel screws are missing, runs fine without them, replaceable. Photo 3. One of the foam feet are missing, still sits perfectly flat with no rocking. Photo 4 & 5. Tensioner reel face damaged, replaceable. Photo 6. Pinch wheel cover missing, seems to make no difference, replaceable. Photo 7. One of the clips on the control panel is broken. Photo 9. locate 0 button print worn but still functions as it should. I have tested this machine and everything seems to work just fine apart from rewind, it may be as simple as a belt has come off but I don't have the time to take it apart, possibly an easy job for someone. I have played a tape with content on it to test the led display and everything seems to work perfectly. You can see from photo 8 that the heads are very clean and in good condition. I use an R8 for recording acoustic music and I think it's a fantastic machine, well worth having! I have provided a take up reel as seen in photo 1, however the actual reel provided may differ slightly from the photo as I have loads of them lying around. I have other machines and many accessories
