Four lovely hand painted Meissen quatrefoil bowls - each w/two romantic scenes alternating w/ large floral sprays on a maroon/plum ground, complemented by gold accenting. 9" diameter; 2" deep. Marked w/ Meissen crossed sword (1825-1924). I believe the marks originally had cancel marks & at some point someone sanded them down - the top & bottom of the mark is still under glaze, so I am sure the porcelain is Meissen. Since they had cancel marks they were either seconds or decorated by a Dresden studio. The bowls are in good condition no chips, cracks or crazing. There is wear on the maroon ground where the bowls were stacked. Despite the flaw the bowls display wonderfully.
