Rare vinyl private pressing of Fowle , Foster & Briggs - Across The Horizon out of Michigan from 1981 . I just heard some of this for the first time & I should be keeping it but I have so much already. This is the best l.p. I've heard in a long time. Looking at the back & front covers I figured this to be a really laid back rural l.p. Uh-uh. This l.p. smokes. There are killer dual lead guitars as well as solo lead guitar all over this puppy. Progressive tunes, Southern rock style tunes, ballads etc. What else do you need ?!? I'm not big on Southern rock usually but this doesn't have that typical sound to it. The progressive elements & rural sound combined with the Southern rock sound make this a very special l.p. Synthesizer is always snaking around too. The ballads are beautiful with gorgeous male vocals & harmonies along with acoustic guitar. I wish I knew how to put sound samples in my ads. This l.p. would get all kinds of bids. I don't know how well it's known yet but I believe that it will be. These guys rule ! " Down The Highway " is a doper tune. Lyrics: " In the morning I put on my Levi's and I smoke a number or two ". " I' m just a pokin ' along tokin ' a bong ". " So I stopped into my friends house and we snorted up a couple of cents ". Then we have the mystical tune " Atlantis ". " Saturn and Venus are places of pleasure. read more
