Being offered for auction is an artist signed limited edition print by Austin Fraser(1911 - 2006). Painting started out as a hobby fo r Fraser and later turned into his second career. He practiced architecture in Minneapolis, MN and upper New York State before settling in Milwaukee, WI where he worked for 25 years. He began painting in the 40's. In 1967 he built his well known "Tree House" Gallery near Egg Harbor. He became one of the first artists to live in Door County year 'round and one of the most prominent. He was best known for his landscapes of elegantly airy birch trees, glowing sky, and snow. The limited edition print being offered is numbered 57 of 500 prints and signed by the artist(please refer to photos). The painting is of E agle Harbor in Winter and is framed and matted. Marked on the print is (Ephraim) in parenthesis just ahead of the 57/500(again, refer to photos). Ephraim is located on the shores of Eagle Harbor. The painting measures approximately 29.5 inches X 24.25 inches outside frame edge to outside frame edge. It measures approximately 23.5" X 18" inside mat edge to inside mat edge. Bonnie Hartman, director of the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, called Fraser a "gentleman and a gentle painter". "His water colors were fresh, his color palate was lovely, and he really captured the D oor County landscape.
