FRAMED MINIATURE OVAL PORTRAIT ON IVORY Frederick August Mensch (b. 1771), father of Count Frederick August von Mensch (b. Dresden, Saxony, 1798). 2½" x 2". Count von Mensch was Commercial Counciler to the King of Saxony (Head of Dept. of Commerce), founded Von Mensch Loge in 1875, and was representative from the Grand Lodge of the State of New York to the Grand Lodge of Saxony. Together with an ink and watercolor Mensch family tree, two seals of the von Mensch family crest, a typed letter on Lodge (Brooklyn, NY) letterhead dated 1947 addressed to a descendent of Frederick von Mensch, and typed information cards. Frame, as is.
