Framed Pair of Watercolour Miniature Portraits - early 1800s Description Two portraits of, we assume, a married couple. The fashion styles seem to date them to the early 1800s, perhaps 1810 to 1830. If it were much later then a couple with the money to have pictures painted would probably have found a photographer instead. The name of the artist seems to be Thirle. The pictures are each in a brass surround inset in an octagonal ebony veneered frame with bone detailing. Size Portraits 2½" x 2". Frame approx 7½" x 5" Condition Portraits seem to be in good condition. Frame showing signs of age on close inspection. One missing veneer edge strip.
