Up for auction is a print of a beautiful illustration showing a mermaid sitting on a rock by the water. The picture originally appeared in "Dekorative Vorbilder." This was a premier Art Nouveau magazine which was published in Stuttgart Germany during the first decade of the 20th century. The artist is A. Bauerle. The picture is entitled "Sea Idyll." It is a typical Art Nouveau image. The mermaid has long reddish blond hair which hangs below her waist. The baby has hair of the same color. The overall color palette has soft pastels of creamy peach and a marine blue-grey. We have surrounded this reproduction in a wooden frame that measures 16 1/2 x 12 inches. the frame has an antiqued gold finish. Frame and print are each in excellent condition. Buyer pays shipping and handling.
