This wonderful stone relief panel was made from a cast of the original panel from one of the world's greatest monuments in the world, the Borobudur Temple complex dating from the 9th century. It is a Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. This panel is from the First Gallery balustrade and depicts a Dhyani Buddha Amoghasidha in Abhaya-sudra position of fearlessness. The stone panel measures 8" square and is framed in wood, so the dimension of the framed piece is 12" square and 1 1/4" deep.
