A signed limited edition fine art print, "Traiteur - Cajun Healer" by American artist George Rodrigue (1944-2013), from the series, "Saga of the Cajuns," The Landry Collection. Depicts a Cajun healer/folk doctor, a beautiful, serene woman in moonlight, in Louisiana. Signed "Rodrigue" at lower right. The model for the figure is Evergreen Lake, who appears in a number of Rodrigue's paintings. The original work was painted by him during 1986-1989 to document the people and history of his native Louisiana. Born in New Iberia, Louisiana, George Rodrigue was an American original, a creative spirit who began his career with soulful evocations of the Cajun people, then went on to further fame with his Blue Dog series. He became internationally famous but maintained his community involvement and respect for his people and roots. He died of lung cancer in 2013 and left a legacy of unique, striking paintings. This print is professionally framed in a gold metal frame.
