21.04 France Bloch MB 152, 1/72 Jo-Han/Intech T-18, NIB Shrinkwrapped top distorted The Marcel Bloch MB.150 series was developed as a contender in the 1934 competition for a new fighter design. The competition was won by the prototype Morane-Saulnier M.S. 406, but the attempted flight of the prototype MB.150 was made in 1936. After modification to engine, propeller and landing gear the MB.150 flew in October 1937. The results of the flight trials were sufficiently interesting that in spring 1938 SNCASO was given a production order for 25 aircraft. Further redesign produced the MB.151 and MB.152 prototypes. By the outbreak of WW II, about 120 aircraft had reached the Armee de l’Air, but due to lack of gunsights and propellers few of these were flyable. The MB.151s and 152s were completely outclassed by the Messerschmitt Bf 109E.
