J. P. L. France (Jean Pouyal Limoges) - France Gold Cup & Saucer Religious Scene This is a very unusual pieceand the cup is attached to the saucer. No visible chips, cracks or crazing, but some of the gold on the handleis worn and in another couple spots including on the rim of the cup. In the photo it shows white and could be mistaken for a chip. There is an indentation on the saucer just under the handle that you can see in the pics. There are angels on the saucer and on the cup and there are inlaid white beads in both areas. A few of the beads on the saucer facing the cup look to be missing or broken off. Very fine detailing in both areas. The word “Magnificat” appears with the 3 angels on the saucer. This was gifted to me from a Franciscan nun about 20 years ago and she said it had been in her family for years. Approximate measurements: Saucer – 6 5/8” round Cup height – 3 5/8” Cup opening – 3 ½”
