Up for auction here is an all wood shipping crate measuring 16” long x 13” wide x 8-1/2” tall, constructed of ¾” thick wood. The lid/cover of the crate has a paper label from Francis Bannerman Sons Military Goods New York. You can read in very faded typing on the Label “San Francisco Exposition Treasure Island Warehouse San Francisco”. There is also hand written address below the paper label that reads “San Francisco Bay Exposition Treasure Island Warehouse c/o Ed Jenkins San Francisco Calif”. On both ends of the crate just about the handles there is the date 2-22-1903 stamped into the wood. The crate is constructed with round head nails and appears square head nails were used to attach the handles. There is also reminisce of small paper labels for “US Arsenal”. The Crate is structurally sound but very aged, soiled and stained, aged worm holes. And appears to be some paint on bottom side. I do my best to give full description, and in the case that I fall short of that, please email with any questions and I will respond as soon as possible.
