Offered is this lovely set of EIGHT soup bowls or soup plates made of fine porcelain china in California by Franciscan. The pattern is called “Gold Band.” It was introduced in 1942 and remained in production through the 1970s. The back mark indicates these pieces were made between 1942 and 1947. Franciscan also labeled this pattern no. 301. The rim soup plates feature a smooth ivory blank that is quite compatible with Lenox ivory. A thick gold band encircles the rim, with a thin gold band inside that. A thin gold band also encircles the inside rim of the bowls. The soup bowls measure 8.25 inches in diameter (21 cm). They stand 1.25 inches high (3 cm). These pieces of china are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Gold trim in very good condition. In separate auctions, we are listing a service for eight in this pattern, as well as six cream soup bowls with liners. Insurance included in shipping costs.
