For Auction is a single handle Franklin Lafayette Becham 1871-1958, Mottled Olive Brown, Beehive or Watermelon Shape 11" Alkaline Glaze Stoneware Jug Stamped "FLB" on the Upper Loop of the Handle. FLB's Brother Jackson Columbus "Jack", Father Washington "Wash" and Uncles are all Identified as "Jug Makers" in the Crawford County census. According to the Smithsonian American Art Museum Biography, FLB stopped working as a potter around 1918 and his work is considered "RARE" or Hard to Find. The Piece is in Excellent Condition showing only one small mark on the middle of body and only slight wear on the mouth of the jug. The Glaze is in perfect condition with no cracks or spider webs. Truly a Beautiful Work of Art and History.
