Franklin Galambos PINK ROSE HC Flower Etching Art 1998 FRANKLIN GALAMBOS This listing is for an incredible original hand colored etching by artist Franklin Galambos. It features a delicate pink rose in various shades of pale pink. It is from 1998 and bears the mark of Franklin's studio. It is the only etching I have left of his. It is in beautiful condition, it had been archivally framed and now removed. It has three marks on the back side of the paper from archival hinges when it was framed. They would not be noticeable if framed again and t are no marks on the front. It is a gorgeous piece and a little more unusual for Galambos. It has been sold out for many years and only available on the secondary market. About the artist: Franklin Galambos was born in 1944 in Norristown, PA. After serving in the US Army, he began civilian life with a commercial printing firm in Philadelphia, before becoming a full time artist in 1972 in King of Prussia, PA. In search of greater space, he moved to the Oley Valley PA in 1978, and moved again in 1985. Franklin's work is rendered onto copper etching plates in painstaking detail, in a fine ranges of grays and black. His images convey a sense that time has briefly stopped, and as many of his subjects have fallen prey to the developers bulldozer, has described his legacy as "a record of our disappearing landscape". Franklin's work has been shown in many exhibitions across the United States over the last 30 years, and can also be found in a number of major galleries.
