Gorgeous Franklin Library The Iliad by Homer (1979 edition). This gorgeous book is in VERY GOOD condition. Tight binding, and gilt edges are near pristine with only a few small rubs (see pictures). Perhaps only opened by me to verify publisher and take pictures. It is full leather with decorative marbled end pages, and satin book mark. It is full leather with a RARE COVER! It is my understanding that it is a first edition first printing, a first run printing prior to being designated a title in the "100 Greatest..." series. Brown and gold full leather binding, raised hubs, and gold gilt edges. 8vo - roughly 9" x 6". 664 pages. Contemporary translation by Robert Fitzgerald. Illustrations by W. T. Mars.
