This auction is for a Franklin Mint 1960 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SL ROADSTER in 1:24 scale. This spectacular model is in excellent condition, and has NEVER BEEN DISPLAYED! This is a beautiful diecast, of one of the truly classic automobiles! The Imperial Red paint is glossy and beautiful, and looks outstanding! The paint is virtually flawless! There is nothing missing or broken, and everything functions as it should. Both doors, the trunk, and hood function properly, and the doors fit nicely to the body. The driver door will open slightly when the car is titlted, but remains closed when immobile. The hood and trunk both stay up on their own. The interior is clean and in terrific condition, and looks new! There is some cracking to the white paint on the steering wheel, which is a product of the age of this model, but it doesn't look terrible, and is really only noticeable upon close inspection. A really neat feature is the luggage accessory, which fits perfectly in the trunk, to give this car that on the go look! The windshield is clean and clear. The front wheels turn, and pivot with the steering wheel, and the chassis and tires look new! In fact, the whole car looks fantastic!
