1983 The National Historical Society Civil War Chess Set, pewter, produced by The Franklin Mint, 32 pewter pieces, each piece is 1/2" to 2" tall; chess board case is 13.5" x 13.5" x 2.25" and has some nicks; comes with The Union Identification Chart, The Confederacy Identification Chart, information booklets on: Philip Henry Sheridan, Pierre G.t. Beauregard, Jeb Stuart, George Armstrong Custer, William Tecumseh Sherman, George G. Meade, Joseph Wheeler, Belle Boyd, Mortars, Cannon - missing are the booklets on: Clara Barton, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, I don't know if there were booklets on the Iron and Stonewall Brigades, but we do not have those; we do not have the Certificate of Authenticity; the pieces are:UNION: Cannons are the Rooks, Sheridan and Custer are the Knights, Meade and Sherman are the Bishops, Clara Barton is the Queen and Grant is the King, The Iron Brigade are the Pawns.CONFEDERACY: Mortars are the Rooks, Wheeler and Stuart are the Knights, Beauregard and Jackson are the Bishops, Boyd is the Queen and Lee is the King, The Stonewall Brigade are the Pawns.
