Star Trek Commemorative Chess Set The Star Trek Commemorative Chess Set was produced by the Franklin Mint for Star Trek 's 25th anniversary in 1991 . This was a standard chess set with TOS -themed pieces as follows : Gold PiecesKing: Captain James T. Kirk Queen: Lt. Uhura Bishops: Commander Spock and Dr. Leonard McCoy (missing COA)Knights: Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery Scott and Lt. Hikaru Sulu Rooks: The USS Enterprise Pawns: Starfleet Security Officers Silver PiecesKing: Khan Noonien Singh Queen: The Romulan Commander From " The Enterprise Incident " (missing COA)Bishops: A Vian and the Gorgan Knights: Romulan Officer and Gorn Commander Rooks: Klingon D7-class Cruiser Pawns: Klingon Foot Soldiers The pieces were produced in pewter, plated in either 24-karat gold or sterling silver and placed on crystal hexagonal bases. The board doubled as the storage case for the pieces. The pieces are all in near mint condition. This set has NEVER been played, and only set up for display for a couple of years. The rest of the time, it has been gathering dust around the world.I am missing the COAs for Dr. McCoy and the Romulan Commander.Shipping is free in the U.S. (including APO and FPO).
