FRANKLIN MINT ARMOUR 1/48 JUNKERS JU 52 LUFTWAFFE CRETE CAMPAIGN (G11B639) The Junkers Ju 52 was a German transport aircraft manufactured from 1932 to 1945. It saw both civilian and military service during the 1930s and 1940s. In a civilian role, it flew with over 12 air carriers including Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa as an airliner and freight hauler. In a military role, it flew with the Luftwaffe as a troop and cargo transport and briefly as a medium bomber . The Ju 52 continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980s. This version was of one of the JU 52s deployed by the Luftwaffe during the Crete Campaign in WW II. It is molded in diecast metal with fine surface details and clear plastic canopy with cockpit interior, clear plastic windows, 3 free spinning solid metal propellers, sturdy metal landing gear struts, and flaps. The model as been on the display and he has the following problems : -missing turret guns -few marks on the body (see pictures ) -not the original box -glued back antenna -flap hinge brocken The rest is OK , and has been on my cabinet for 2 years Is still a nice plane I have decided to sell the plane due to the size I will not post the item (is too risky due to the missing holding screws) The collection is from nw9 ; London Good Luck !
