Franklin Mint Medal - Sunflowers by Van Gogh This Franklin Mint Medal is part of the 100 Greatest Masterpieces and is titled Sunflowers. The original painting by Vincent Van Gogh was done in 1888 and is in the London National Gallery. I apologize for the quality of these pictures, but even after more than a dozen attempts this one just will not photograph well. The picture on the description page is clearer than either of the photos of the actual medal. I think it will not photograph well because it is quite shiny and any light just reflects back causing the picture to be dark. The medal is approx. 2.1 oz solid sterling silver overlaid with 24K gold. It is still in the original packaging from Franklin Mint and comes with the description page that is part of the book for the entire series.This medal has a couple of discolored spots on the edge, and I am not sure what it is or what has caused this.. I do not want to open the original plastic packaging to examine it. This medal has been in storage since the mid 70s and I just came across them while cleaning out a closet.I ship by USPS Priority Mail, insured and with delivery confirmation.
