For your consideration. A literary horse legend lives on. The Red Pony by the Franklin Mint in a dramatic porcelain sculpture by the foremost equestrian sculptor of our time Pamela du Boulay of Great Britain. Gabilan, The Red Pony, wild, strong and high spirited is a much beloved book which has delighted readers both young and old for over 50 years. Written by one of American's greatest 20th Century authors, John Steinbeck. Individually hand-cast in fine porcelain and meticulously hand-finished. Handpainted the reddish-brown coat, the rich black mane and the distinctive white markings which helped Jody find the wild colt whenever he strayed. Created 19 years ago in 1987 the horse is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, missing or repaired pieces. Measures 9 inches tall and 12 inches long. Pamela du Boulay's signature appears on the base of the sculpture. Pamela is a sculptor of enormous accomplishment as she has won high acclaim both in her native England and throughout the world. Her works are sought-after and are now in many private collections such as that of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg. She also has been honored with an exclusive exhibit at the famed Tryon Gallery one of London's Prestigious showplaces for animal art.
