Creek Pottery Checotah Oklahoma Centennial Plate This plate was made by Creek Pottery, a short lived pottery company formed by the Creek Indian Nation. This pottery was formed by Chief W E McIntosh who contacted John Frank of Frankoma Pottery who helped get this business started. It has some characteristics of Frankoma, with the red clay, and has a similar glaze. This plate is 8 3/4" diameter and is the Checotah Oklahoma Centennial 1872-1972, and has the Great Seal of the Muscogee Creek Nation I. T. (Indian Terrotory). It is signed on the back, Creek, and hand signed Roy Roberts, 72. I don't know who Roy Roberts was, maybe someone can tell me. Plate is in mint condition, and has holes on back to attach wire for hanging. Auction Templates By
