What you see above is literally what you will get!!!!! TWO FEATHERS VARIETIES T are several dates in the Buffalo Nickel series in which the TWO - FEATHERS variety is found -- this being one of them. The Cherrypicker's Guide to Rare Die Varieties Volume 5 by noted numismatic authers BILL FIVAZ & J.T. STANTON lists 14 different Date/MintMark combinations that have the TWO FEATHER variety. The variety was created when mint technicians over-polished a Buffalo Nickel Die during the minting process and literally "polished off" the 3rd feather on the die near the Indian's neck. This type of error is the same as the 1937-D three-leg Buffalo nickel in which most of the bison's right front leg was polished off after a die clash. It is estimated that only a VERY small number (a few dozen to a few hundred) of TWO FEATHERS variety Buffalo Nickels exist for each date/mintmark.
