FREE TO BE ME, The Eskimo Way, by Susan Amundson and Brenda Geiken, is the story of a young eskimo boy, Khobi, and his Samoyed dog Hero. When Khobi attends a new school, the children make fun of him because he is "different", and his friends, trying to be helpful, take him to buy some clothes that fit in better with the other children Hero, his Samoyed protector, knows that Khobi is unhappy and stays close to him; When Khobi returns from school, his elders convince him that it is okay to be different and true to yourself, and next day, Khobi returns to school in his original eskimo clothing. The children eventually understand, and accept Khobi and Hero just as they are. This is a lovely book, beautifully illustrated throughout. The book is signed and dated by the author on the title page. It is a 56-page hardback with glazed pictorial boards, in very good, clean condition; it comes complete with a CD, the Khobi and Hero song, attached to the back paste down. Please bookmark my auctions, as I will be selling more Khobi and Hero books in the next week. Shipping is $2.50. Thank you.
