Hi I have for sale a fantastic looking 1880s black slateand green malachite mantle clock in very good condition for the age made in France stamped to the rear by the maker H. Marc with the ultra rear snake hands all standing on lion paw feet a very rare cased clock of an early age. The Case The case is in solid black marble with green malachite and the most stunning arrange of gilded work I have ever seen on a case this size, she stands 12.5” high x 14” wide with a depth of 6” with a thick 4mm bevelled glass front door and brass bezel all standing on lions paw feet. The Dial The dial is in mint condition in black marble with gilded Roman numerals with stunning carved and gilded snake hands , the dial is signed H Marc Paris. The Movement The movement is an eight day time and strike which strikes the hours and halves on a sweet bell to the rear. The movement is signed on the back plate it was oiled and serviced 2 weeks ago and keeping great time over the eight days. Overall a very nice clock quite rare in this original condition that looks stunning on display a real must for the best slate collectors out there.
