A very pretty Duverdrey and Bloquel French carriage clock, circa1900 which has the lion trademark on the backplate. This timepiece has a porcelain dial with Arabic numerals that are surrounded by a beautiful etched gilt filigree mask. The clock comes with its original platform escapement and keeps good time over seven days. The five bevelled glass panels are all intact and unmarked, although there is a very small nick in the top glass. The serpentine shape case is solid brass and is in generally excellent condition with the exception of some small blotches on the case top plate underneath the handle , however, I do not feel these distract from the overall appearance of this fine clock. The clock is 6 inches (16cm) high to the top of the handle, 3 inches (7.5cm) wide and 2.6 inches (6.5cm) deep. It weighs just over 1200 grams and comes with a double ended winding and adjusting key. I would welcome pick-up or am happy to send very well packed, but the buyer will have to accept liability if there is damage to the clock during transit.
