French Chair - This little gem has a beautifully patterned sateen like base material that changes color when viewed from different angles and lighting. The pattern is satin pink with embroidered tiny pale yellow flowers and swirls and large swirling mauve colored satin leaves. 1/4" diameter touching brass tacks outline the pillow work. Extensively carved wood in fantastic condition. It has a few material flaws due to age, use and drying. These are noticeable but do not "stick out" like a sore thumb. An 8" long "rip" along the top of the right hand arm that has been stitched, and on the same very front corner the threads in the material have separated somewhat in a small area. At the bottom front, a long tear has developed from the flexing of the material when seated (there is a spring bed underneath the seat!). Aside from that the material is in great condition. The outsides and back and even underneath the cushion are the same material. The cushion is fluffy and fringed in brown loop trim and is also in great condition on all sides (it's reversible!). The "Queen's chair" (as my husband calls it) is very comfortable to curl up in and relax with a good book. It is in my opinion one of the prettiest, most luxurious chairs I have ever seen!
