This French WW1 CROIX DE GUERRE is in very good condition and is complete with its original, rather worn, ribbon. These medals were also awarded to British, Canadian, U.S and other Allied troops who fought in the French sector of the Line. The medal bears the inscription 1914-17, which means that this particular hero did not make it through until the end of the war, having been either killed or wounded so severely as to prevent his return to action.
