Five hand-painted faience inkwells, including a square Desvres inkwell on four feet, unmarked, an oval Rouen inkwell, marked Rouen, an octagonal inkwell, marked France, and an unmarked French inkwell, all with painted floral and geometric decoration on a white ground, and a Capodimonte faience inkwell with gilding and raised decoration depicting infants playing, marked with crown and N for Capodimonte on bottom; largest ht. 3.25, lg. 4.5 in. Property from the Collections of Dorothy Painter, Cincinnati, OH. Condition: Crazing and wear to porcelain. Chip to interior mouth of Capodimonte inkwell.
