The Battle of 'Dien Bien Phu' From the 13 March until the 7th May 1954.with 14,014 French troops,the end casualties were 2,293 dead.5195 wounded and 11,721 prisoners.The Foreign Legion Para Bns the 1st and 2nd BEPs were virtually wiped out along with other Legion and French Para Bns.The medal and the 2 bars ''Dien Bien Phu' and 'Indochine' are all in good condition. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~00~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Circular gilt bronze medal with suspension in the form of a dragon; the face with a plaque inscribed ‘INDOCHINE’ with a seven-headed serpent below and a tricephalous elephant above, the edge inscribed ‘REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE’, signed below ‘L.M.’ and ‘J.C.’; the reverse with a wreath of oak and laurel circumscribed ‘CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE FRANÇAIS D’EXTREME-ORIENT’; age toned; on original ribbon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~00~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Buyer pays £7 for postage to UK by registered & tracking mail.
