French Hornby O Gauge Clockwork Train Set M5 This popular passenger train set was made in Paris in the 1950's . It was made in both electric and clockwork versions and this is the clockwork one. The set is part of the M series of O gauge trains. The set is modelled on the BB8051 that ran on the French network from 1951 (photo 3 which shows it undergoing testing) The set consists of the following: a BB8051 loco with winding key (photo 2) 2 2nd class passenger coaches (photo 7) 6 pieces of curved (1 of which is a brake rail) and 2 pieces of straight track with flat (parallel) sleepers (photo 1) - this forms an oval of 80 x 100 cm a pack of track connecting clips for securing the track together (photo 1) The loco is dark green with red detailing on its wheels and body The loco is fully functional (it has been tested) and runs in one direction. It can be stopped either with the lever on the loco side (photo 5) or by using the brake rail included in the set The loco, coaches and track are in very good to excellent condition with just a few minor scratches. The box is poor (photo 8) and misses the insert that normally holds the loco & coaches in place (photo 1). The box features a picture of the BB8051 loco and coaches on the lid (photo 1).
