French Hornby O Gauge Etoile du Nord Loco & Tender This magnificant train was made in Paris after the war. It was the top of the range of Hornby France train models. It features a light that shines through the front and chimney (photo 3), brass handrails and autoreverse or manual reverse operation The Hornby Etoile du Nord (Star of the North) was a realistic model of an actual streamlined locomotive that ran on the French network (photo 2). This version can be reversed either manually using a lever on the side of the loco (photo 5) or remotely with a 20 volt AC transformer. The loco gets it power from the centre rail via 2 pick-ups (photo 8) The loco is in very good condition with no missing parts. There are a few scratches and some touched-up paint loss on the loco cab on one side (photo 10). There is a small indentation on one side of the tender (photo 4). The loco works perfectly in both directions and the light works also.
