Antique dagger/bayonet? with thin, rounded, bright metal blade and short, beehived blade w/ curved side embellishment. Knife fan friend i.d.'s this as a French lebel bayonet used in WWI & WWII, but I don't know if he's right. Is as pictured; other details include:* Stamp on bottom of blade, upside down, is "294" * Blade is 13 ½" x ¾" * Comes in reddish-brown leather sheath with 2 in-tact belts around it and brass ring near top (to attach to belt?) * Handle is dirty--maybe brass? Doesn't look like rust to me. Email me if u have any questions. Please also check out the other items, including more knives, I am listing over the coming weeks from an elderly neighbor's garage. The scabbard appears to be one used by mounted US troops for their 1892 Krag-Jorgensen bayonets in lieu of the steel type. The bayonet is cut down from something else, it's impossible to tell from the photos what you have but it's definitley not a Lebel, it had a cruciform blade. " Take this info w/ a grain of salt, as I do not know the person who wrote read more
