FRENCH MACHINE AGE JIELDE INDUSTRIAL TASK LAMP DOMECQ 1. Featured in "1000 lights 1879-1959" lamp has original diffuser Great design on this famous French architectural lamp. Designed in 1951 by J. L. Domecq, this "lampe d' usine" was found in every factory all over France. One of the great design features of these lamps is that the electrical connections are in the joints. The arms can be turned endlessly without twisting wires. Also the arms can be removed or added on simply by unscrewing them. T are no decorative elements on theses lamps, yet they are beautiful. They have become an icon of the machine age era.Each arm measures 17", the shade measures 11 ½" long including the handle and the base about 4" tall. The lamp is in its original condition, t are a few scratches and chips in the original paint, and two very minor little bump (1/2") in the shade. The arms are all straight, and t are no dents in the shade. It works and takes a standard screw-in light porcelain bulb E27 type (all wire is ok). The switch is situated on the base of the lamp, sticks Jieldé of origin on the globe. The electrical wires are ready, just needs an American plug. .
