Very good condition and guaranteed original French Mle 1866 Chassepot bayonet that is complete with matching numbered scabbard. The arsenal markings on the spine have been removed. Blade has original bright finish with a little scattered. Never sharpened, tip has a ding. Guard has brown color. Brass grip has nice looking patina. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. Matching numbered steel scabbard has nice original blue metal finish showing a little normal wear, no dents. A good example of a Chassepot bayonet, hard to find with matching numbers.
